  • ADHD

    Attention Deficit Hyperavctivity Disorder – a prevalent, persistent and impairning neurodevelopmental diagnosis.

  • Empowement

    The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.

  • Self-efficacy

    An individual’s belief in their capacity to act in the ways necessary to reach specific goals.

  • Polypharmacy

    When a person is on three or more different medications for different conditions the same time, they fall under the category Polypharmacy.

  • Multimorbidity

    An individual suffering from three or more different conditions at the same time.

  • Orthorexia

    An unhealthy focus on exercises and eating healthy food leading to negative consequences.

  • Comorbidity

    Meeting the diagnostic criteria for two or more psychiatric disorders, for example ADHD and substance use disorders (SUD).

  • ADD

    Attention Deficit Disorder – ADHD without (external) hyperactivity/impulsivity.

  • AST

    Autism spectrum disorder. All autistic diagnosis on the spectrum from Asperger to the most severe presentation of autism.

  • Heterogeneity

    ADHD ADD can be very different things for different persons and you can have more of an ADHD-profile in part of your life and be more ADD-like in other periods.

  • SUD

    Substance use disorders i.e., addiction or dependency of alcohol, nicotine or drugs.

  • CBT

    Cognitive behavior therapy. Focus on how thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect feelings and behavior.

  • DBT

    A development of CBT with focus to understand accept and handle feelings and emotions.

  • IUD

    Intrauterine device or coil.

  • ND

    Neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ADD, autism, tics, Tourettes, Intellectual disabilities etc.)

  • Executive function

    The brains high-level skills for control and coordination of our behaviors.

  • RSD

    Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria – Intense fear of real or imagined rejection.
