Dr. Lotta Borg Skoglund

Dr. Skoglund is a senior consultant physician trained in general medicine and psychiatry and an associate professor in psychiatry at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Uppsala University, and the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet.
Literature & Clinical Work
Dr. Skoglund is clinically active and dedicated to improving the co-created standard of care through lead patient users and patient organizations.
She is the author of six popular science books translated internationally and holds several commissions of trust in national agencies, non-profit organizations, and patient associations. Lotta is an active advocate for a holistic, empowering, and evidence-based focus on mental health, neurodiversity, and female rights. She is also the co-founder of Letterlife.
Scientific Work
Her scientific work targets the intersection of ADHD and comorbidity conditions (substance use disorders, personality disorders and mood disorders) as well as gender discrepancies and hormonal factors associated with neurodiversity and ADHD. More specifically, she leads a trans-professional clinically oriented research group of psychiatrists, psychologists, gynecologists, midwifes and sociologists exploring how sex hormones, hormonal contraceptives and sexual risk-tanking interact with ADHD traits, symptom severity and comorbidity in girls and women.
